Elephants Don't Tread Lightly

Nor wear their skins too tightly.

They lift their feet as if cemented.

They'd make good wine

With grapes fermented.

You is d’man and you also are.

It’s been too long apart

That you’ve been far.

I don’t really mind your P’s and Q’s

Nor your understated is’s

I like you just the way you is and are.

So take me with a grain of sand

But take me as I am and

I would love to take you as you are.

No adjectives or flowery words

Nor explanations bout the bees and birds

You is d’man and I loves you

Just the way you is and are.
