Strange Memories

Strange Memories It's strange to have memories that pain us each day Come to the fore against choice Yet memories we'd choose that we cherish and love Become recollections of lost visions and voice. When considering families we long to hold close Yet find that they don't hold us dear We suppress all the pain and turn to those friends That accept us and shower their care At the end of our lives when we measure and weigh All the hopes we've pursued year by year It's still family we crave tho cast off and rejected It's painfully sad to have known that despair So I offer my love in return for yours, friend Til the end of my now measured days Give me your hand and keep guard of my heart Let's hold to the reins, rainbows end.
