L'Chaim : To Life

L'chaim : to life

Each child that died was yours and mine

We mourners wail and suffer,

Each woman lying now below

Was sister and our mother,

Each man whose eyes forever sleep

Your father and our brother.

We languish now in sorrowful grief

While rockets reign the sky

And run to shelter those we love

Recalling lives too brief

Once laughter was the sound of life

Not guns , nor bitter hate

When children played with toys and sang

Now death has come to violate.

Zinging rockets constant noise

Fill shelters as they fall

Descending clouds of darkness now

Obliterate our life's recall.

We wish to live , we relish peace

To build and not tear down

We yearn for life and grasp to wear

Guardian angels holy crown.

Assassins Hand

Assassins hands in bloodied claim Killed a child in his gods name Destroying his humanity His soul is dead tho he roamed free By judgement poorly made before Repeated deaths he claimed new score Revenge must take him swiftly now If indeed his God is just He sealed his fate with rendered hate For from his hand death emanates If right must reign let it reign now Swift justice on his life bestow His claim to death by murderous deed Sent child and innocence to share a grave We shed our tears for all we lost Tho pain is not our steepest cost For each child's death is yours and mine Our world has darkened by another's crime Hold back the hand that preaches hate Let this child's death uplift us all And bury hate with innocence Instill what love we're meant to share That we may one another love That each of us for other care.
