No knowing a soul she made stuffed cabbage for Peggy

Cookies too...

Cookies for Phillip and Charlie, and Chicken Soup for him

and Margaret.

Two necklaces for little Gweneth...

An Alice in Wonderland Cup for Alice

and cookies.

Banana Bread for everyone, and

Ice cream too one hot day.

Loaned a special dress to Margaret

for her daughters wedding.

Still few inquiry

A ‘how are you’? or two...

Short hospital stay but serious

Only Patrick and Charlie showed a care.

Stuffed Cabbage made no inroads,

Nor had cookies, chicken soup

Or innate charm

They did not help

Nor did they harm.

Still alone now knowing

Every name

Yet not herself to blame.

Stuffed Cabbage made no inroads

Nor had Chicken Soup.

Like the protein laden shell of eggs

Too tough to crack...

And yet she could not take it back.

She will recover.

No inroads of Stuffed Cabbage nor of chicken soup.
